A quality book cover is just as much a work of art as the book you’ve spent countless hours writing, revising, and preparing for publication. More than just promotional material or an eye-catching advertisement, the book covers I create are designed to visually encapsulate what makes your work unique.
You’ve heard the old adage regarding books and their covers, as well as the spiel about “a great cover is a book’s best marketing asset”, so I won’t bore you by restating either in my own words. Instead, I urge you to check out my portfolio and premades to discover whether one of my designs is right for you.
All custom covers come with up to 5 rounds of revisions. I use a blend of paid stock photos, public domain images, and my own custom digital art. During no part of the design process will I make use of generative AI; even though I can see why it is tempting to book cover designers (cheap, quick, and unique) it fails to meet my aesthetic and ethical standards.
The base cost of an ebook cover is $50, which includes up to five revisions and as many premium stock photos as I think necessary. Various addons include:
- Paperback cover – $10
- Audiobook cover – $10
- Social media graphics – $10 for three
- Bookmarks – $5 for two
I value working closely with authors throughout every step of the design process , which is why after you submit your form, I’ll send you an email asking some additional questions about your book. If you have a manuscript ready, I would love to read it in order to have a better sense of the compelling and unique cover it needs.
My designs are not for everyone. You might not want to book a cover design if:
- Your book contains explicit content or excessive profanity. As a Christian, I do not feel right designing covers for books I wouldn’t read myself. (If you’re unsure whether the content of your book is suitable for one of my designs, please email me and I’ll give you an honest answer.)
- You don’t want a designer who uses exclusively open source software. At the moment, the cost of proprietary design programs like Photoshop or Affinity outweighs the benefit (if there is any) for me.
- You don’t want to give prompt-ish feedback on multiple renditions of the design (and share ideas as to how you think the design should look). I like to collaborate closely with authors because I want your book cover to live up to whatever you’ve been imagining.
If you are ready to commission a design, please fill out this form. I will reply within 24 hours and start working on your cover as soon as possible.
If you don’t have Paypal but would like to use some other electronic payment method, that’s fine–let me know in the additional information box and we’ll work something out.
